Referrals

Our centre is run by very experienced therapists with knowledge of rehabilitating a number of challenging cases. If you are unsure about which therapy a particular case requires feel free to contact us to discuss further.

We will never work with a case without a referral from a MRCVS veterinary surgeon and a full clinical history where required. Once we are treating a case, we will keep you updated with reports throughout the rehabilitation process on the progress of your case and may call you from time to time for advice on further veterinary treatment that a case may require. If you have any questions after receiving a report from us, do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

Case advice and locum work:

We also provide advice for cases that you may have and our physiotherapist, is available to visit your practice to provide physiotherapy treatment and advice. Feel free to email or call us for more information.

We are also available to provide CPD/training on rehabilitation for local practices.

Physiotherapy

Our veterinary physiotherapist is a member of the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists (NAVP) and is registered with Register of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners, RAMP. The NAVP is widely recognised in the industry for its pivotal role in developing the very first direct entry routes for veterinary physiotherapy training at both postgraduate and also now undergraduate level.

NAVP members are highly skilled in providing physiotherapy care for animals and by referring to us you can be assured that:

  • We are qualified via a recognised accredited training programme i.e. university Masters degree.

  • We carry appropriate professional and public liability insurance.

  • We will work in accordance with current legislation alongside you, as the veterinary surgeon, and also in close conjunction with members of other related professions such as trainers, behaviourists, etc.

  • We are required to work within a professional code of conduct and ethics.

  • We are required to continually maintain and enhance our skills, post-qualification, by completing appropriate programmes of continued professional development (CPD)  annually in order to be able to maintain our membership status.

The aim of RAMP is to raise standards in the industry and assist animal owners and veterinary surgeons in ensuring that the professionals they use to assist in the treatment and health maintenance of their or client’s animals are suitably trained, accountable and provide the gold standard of care.

All registrants have achieved an industry recognised appropriate standard of training through externally accredited courses, comply with Continuing Professional Development and hold full, valid professional indemnity insurance as required by the wider industry.
