"Matthew has been excellent with our dog Hugo who has elbow dysplasia. Hugo improved significantly under Matthews calm and professional care. Matthew’ s home visits and simple to follow home exercises meant that Hugo gained considerable strength in his joint whilst enjoying every moment of the process. A fantastic physiotherapy service!" - Alison Cluroe
“Robbie the black Lab I share with my brother in law Michael had over 100 treatments at AHT. He is normally a laid back dog but at times was so excited when going for hydrotherapy that I had to remove him from the waiting room. We Miss not going since AHT closed. I cannot thank Jo and the other therapists enough for their great care and expertise.” - Bill Minns
"Charlie had over 100 swims at the AHT for elbow dysplasia. He loved the pool as well as Jo, along with all other staff. Could not put into words how much hydro helped Charlie. He was so enthusiastic and even when diagnosed with terminal cancer swam till the end. Could not recommend Jo enough with a wealth of knowledge and so helpful. I miss the hydro and the AHT but will soon be contacting Synergy for Bertie my new chocolate boy for fitness swims." - Carl Jefferson
"Jo and Matt are quite possibly the kindest and most caring veterinary professionals I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. My dog is undergoing a tricky rehabilitation for bilateral Achilles tendon injuries, and the support that we have been offered at Synergy is second to none.
Both Jo and Matt go above and beyond to offer their patients (and owners!) the best possible care and rehabilitation package, and nothings seems to be too much trouble for them. I would wholeheartedly recommend Synergy and I know that my dog wouldn't have made it this far without them." - Gemma Hill
"Thank you so much Matthew for helping me with our young Lab, Margo. Her potential elbow dysplasia issues have settled down well with treatment and I now feel ready to work with her and manage any issues going forward. Lets hope they are few and far between but I am much better equipped to help her when necessary following our sessions." - Ian Pepper
“Would like to say what Excellent treatment our Dog lily received from Matthew. Lily suffered an IVDD episode and was paralysed until surgery intervention, however, Matthew helped Lily so much in her rehab. We had several sessions and Matthew gave us lots of help to continue in between the sessions. Lily was very responsive to the treatment and we finally got her back to walking again. I can’t thank Matthew enough, he was professional, knowledgeable, but very kind and caring and it was a pleasure to meet him.
Sadly when AHT closed, we were dismayed, as were going on to a maintenance programme, sadly with one thing and another we haven’t been able to come and see Matthew in his new practice but have not forgotten his excellent help.” - Jan Ellis
"We would not hesitate to give Synergy the highest possible rating from our experience of their service. Jago, our ageing border collie, was referred by our vets when his hind legs began to show signs of weakening. Matthew was happy to make home visits and we were immediately struck by his calm, gentle and confident manner which reassured both us, and more importantly, Jago. After an hour of investigation, manipulation and massage, and an exercise regime Jago showed a marked improvement, which only slowly decreased over the course of a month. Matthew's monthly visits became a regular part of our lives and not emotionally or financially draining.
Jagos treatment continued for almost a year until his death in August just four weeks before his 17th birthday.
We have subsequently visited the Synergy premises and were most impressed by the quality of the equipment and the staff." - Janet and Bob Connelly
"Our labrador, Tswalu, suffered a traumatic spinal injury in 2019. With the amazing care he received from his physio, Matthew and the hydrotherapy team whilst at the AHT, and now with Synergy, his continued physiotherapy maintenance sessions ensure his enthusiasm for life remains. Matthew’s calm and quiet way with his patients means Tswalu accepts his treatment in a relaxed atmosphere and Matthew is so professional with follow up notes and exercises explained clearly. Tswalu’s tail wagging when he has his physiotherapy and hydrotherapy sessions says it all really!" - Liz Bulbrook
“Our enthusiastic 9 year old, Chewy, was diagnosed with both elbow and hip dysplasia when he was only 2. That's when we first met Jo for hydrotherapy, and later we met Matt for physio. Chewy is their biggest fan. He was at the vet's today for a blood test. She said she was extremely pleased with his joints, given that he went mental and charged round the surgery with a needle hanging out of his leg and nobody could catch him until he stopped beneath the treat jar. He really benefitted from the treatment Jo and Matt gave him at the AHT and has stiffened up a fair bit since they closed down. I can't wait to get him back in the pool. We live well over an hour away, but I would much rather travel to Synergy than use the local facilities.” - Patricia Sanders
“Absolutely brilliant with my dog Neil (Tibetan terrier) who’s had arthritis in his shoulder from aged 4. He’s had physio with Matt and hydrotherapy with Jo over the last few years at AHT both have helped him no end with his movement/pain etc. Very knowledgeable people and can’t wait for Neil to start again soon.” - Rachael Dew
“Bertie the labradoodle misses hydrotherapy so much. We were devastated when the hydro centre at AHT was lost. Bertie was diagnosed with hip dysplasia when only a few months old, and the treatment (and cuddles!) he had with Jo was the highlight of his week - these sessions kept him supple and strengthened his muscles, and we are so happy to hear that we will be able to resume hydrotherapy with Jo before the weather gets colder.” - Susie Norman
“Matthew was exceptionally kind and patient with my little rescue dog Higgins. Higgins soon started excitedly greeting him like a long-lost friend! The physio plan Matthew devised has made a huge difference to Higgins, who was diagnosed with elbow dysplasia age 5. The condition is degenerative and yet Higgins is much better now than when he was diagnosed, over a year ago. The at-home exercises are easy to follow too and Higgins thinks it's just a fun game!" - Vicky Westmore
